BOE's recent investor update signals strong momentum in its perovskite PV efforts as a core part of the "Nth Curve" strategy for future growth.
BOE's perovskite business is said to be advancing through the pilot stage, with plans to boost module conversion efficiency, stability, and lifespan via increased R&D investment. The company aims to accelerate industrialization, shift pilot-line tech to large-scale mass production, and drive down costs through ongoing technological iterations. It will also pursue open innovation with leading global PV firms to create a comprehensive perovskite ecosystem covering materials, equipment, products, applications, and standards.
These perovskite initiatives, alongside glass-based encapsulation substrates - where BOE has completed a large-format glass substrate pilot line and continues R&D - position both as vital engines for the company's next growth phase. Favorable depreciation on key display lines like Ordos 5.5G, Chengdu 6G AMOLED, and Hefei 10.5G LCD (ending or phasing in H2 2025) will ease operational burdens and free up resources.
While reaffirming focus on core displays and IP cooperation (including its Samsung Display settlement), BOE emphasized building industry ecosystems for sustainable development. In a complex global environment, it plans collaborative innovation with partners to tackle challenges and promote healthy growth across OLED and emerging fields like perovskites.
