South Korea’s Gosan Tech has announced a strategic partnership with NPC Incorporated to jointly develop, manufacture, and market equipment for perovskite solar photovoltaic (PV) modules.
This alliance aims to leverage Gosan Tech’s advanced inkjet printing technology to improve production processes for perovskite solar modules, targeting PV module manufacturers in Japan and the United States, with initial sales contributions expected to begin in the fiscal year ending August 31, 2027. Although the immediate financial impact is minor, the partnership is expected to boost NPC's results and position both companies in the growing perovskite PV module market.
NPC specializes in back-end equipment for PV module production and is now expanding into front-end equipment for perovskite modules. Gosan Tech brings proprietary inkjet printing systems that facilitate precise and efficient deposition of the layers required for perovskite solar cell fabrication. Their technology has already demonstrated pilot-scale production capability, supporting both large and small format modules.
The collaboration is expected to broaden NPC’s reach in the rapidly growing perovskite sector, allowing NPC to become a more comprehensive equipment supplier for both conventional and next-generation PV modules. By joining with Gosan Tech, NPC will be better positioned to address technological challenges and meet the evolving requirements of large-scale perovskite module production, especially as commercial momentum increases heading toward 2027.
