Halocell Energy recently secured a financial boost from the Australian federal government to scale up production of its indoor perovskite PV modules.
The company has been awarded AUD 606,680 under the Australian Government’s Industry Growth Program to expand its perovskite PV manufacturing capabilities and upgrade its production facility in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. The new funding will support an increase in annual output of Halocell’s indoor perovskite PV modules from around 7,000 units today to approximately 100,000 units per year.
Halocell produces lightweight, flexible perovskite modules optimized for low‑light conditions and high‑value applications that demand high power density, strong low‑light performance and radiation tolerance. According to the company, its modules deliver broad‑spectrum performance, with superior output in low‑light and cloudy conditions, and are designed for use in environments where reliability and efficiency are critical.
The Industry Growth Program grant will enable Halocell to begin upgrading its Wagga Wagga manufacturing line with advanced roll‑to‑roll equipment, as well as to optimize its processes for higher quality and consistency. The company also plans to expand its engineering and operations team as part of the scale‑up effort.
Halocell said the funding will help it accelerate production of its next‑generation perovskite photovoltaic modules for high‑value markets and acknowledged the support of the Australian Government’s Department of Industry, Science and Resources and the Industry Growth Program, while thanking its team and partners for their role in advancing clean‑technology innovation in Australia.
