Daiichi Jitsugyo Co., Ltd. (DJK), a global machinery trading company, aims to accelerate the adoption of perovskite solar cells. To achieve this, the company is installing demo units of inkjet systems manufactured by Panasonic Production Engineering Co., Ltd. (PPE) in Europe (Switzerland), the USA, and China, establishing environments for local inkjet testing and evaluation.

PPE's inkjet technology is ideal for the coating process of tandem perovskite solar cells because it enables high film thickness uniformity even on uneven substrates. Furthermore, a key strength of inkjet technology is its ability to perform not only uniform surface coating but also precise patterned coating.
The configuration for China is an all-in-one R&D system integrated within a glove box, featuring the inkjet unit, a vacuum drying oven, and a hot plate. Additionally, PPE inkjet systems can be utilized for target applications beyond perovskite solar cells, such as displays and semiconductors. Notably, demo units for Europe (Switzerland) and the USA are equipped with heads compatible with high-viscosity fluids.

PPE Inkjet Installation Sites
- Switzerland: Marly, Switzerland
- USA: Arizona State, USA
- China: Guangdong Province, China
Features of PPE Inkjet Systems
- Versatile Head Compatibility: Capable of being equipped with various inkjet heads tailored to specific applications (high resolution, solvent resistance, high viscosity).
- Precision Engineering: Equipment technology that achieves high precision and high reproducibility.
- Durability: Features inkjet heads with excellent solvent resistance.
- High Throughput: Enables single-pass printing (one-pass coating) by arranging inkjet heads in parallel.
- Process Monitoring: Standard equipped with a flight observation unit to verify discharge status and a landing observation function to monitor droplet placement accuracy.
- Scalability: Design and manufacturing of inkjet heads and systems tailored to needs across R&D, pilot, and mass production phases.
