Lockin debuts smart locks powered by perovskite solar cells at CES 2026

Lockin, an innovative vein recognition smart lock brand, has announced the new Aeon smart lock at CES.

The Aeon smart lock brings perovskite solar technology to door security, using high‑efficiency solar harvesting to drastically cut back on battery maintenance. Introduced alongside the V7 Max and Veno Pro Wireless around CES 2026, Aeon is positioned as the solar‑powered option in Lockin’s lineup, aimed at people who want a smart lock that quietly powers itself in the background instead of needing regular battery swaps or charging.

Aeon uses advanced perovskite solar cells, which the company says deliver significantly better energy conversion efficiency than traditional small solar panels, allowing the lock to pull in more power from the same panel area. A key point they highlight is that it can recharge even under overcast skies, so it is designed to keep charging in typical, imperfect real‑world lighting, not just under strong direct sun. This continuous trickle charging into the internal battery is meant to reduce “battery anxiety” for users and support long‑term, stable operation at the front door.

Within Lockin’s portfolio, Aeon sits in the family of vein‑recognition smart locks and is intended to work in modern smart‑home setups, complementing their more experimental optical‑charging flagship by offering a high‑efficiency, solar‑centric approach instead.
