Zhenyao Technology, a China-based global provider of e-paper application solutions, recently launched a 31.5-inch full-color e-paper display advertising screen equipped with perovskite photovoltaic cells by Yanhe Solar.
The product reportedly achieves completely passive operation for the first time in commercial-grade e-paper display devices, requiring no external power supply or replacement of the built-in battery, and can operate continuously using only ambient light.
This new product integrates E Ink's latest E Ink Spectra 6 color e-paper technology, Zhenyao Technology's mature display system, and Yanhe Solar's self-developed "Qiguang" perovskite power generation modules, that address the core pain points of low-power electronic devices relying on external power supplies and frequent battery swapping. Its power supply system has been said to pass rigorous commercial-grade verification, achieving continuous self-generation even under normal indoor lighting conditions, supporting uninterrupted device operation.
The "Qiguang" module is extremely thin and light, seamlessly integrating into the overall product design. It boasts a 10-year indoor lifespan with no need for battery replacements, significantly reducing overall lifecycle maintenance costs and completely eliminating pollution from discarded batteries. With its low-light power generation efficiency exceeding that of amorphous silicon, "Qiguang" opens up a new technological path for the comprehensive passive upgrade of low-power electronic devices.
