SEI Energy Technology

SEI Energy Technology is a joint venture based in China, between Solaires Enterprises (Victoria BC, Canada) and Genesis Technologies (Shanghai).

In November 2024, it has announced the successful trial production of its perovskite modules from its mass production line. The companies view the success of this trial production as a significant step that demonstrates the potential of this production line, that lays a foundation for the large-scale commercialization of perovskite materials and solar modules. 

SEI’s manufacturing process of perovskite materials is said to be relatively simple, which can greatly shorten the production cycle and improve production yield. The raw materials used are environmentally friendly and have significant cost advantages.

Relying on the 'first-mover' advantage of this successful trial production, SEI expects to remain ahead of the competition. The company plans to expand the production of perovskite modules in the next few years to meet the strong market demand for high-efficiency, affordable photovoltaic products.

SEI, with its PVModule technology, offers an inexpensive and easily printable solution that aims to revolutionize the industry. These modules boast superior
light absorption, resulting in improved performance and energy conversion efficiency of 35% specifically optimized for indoor applications. SEI's manufacturing process is not only cleaner but also more cost-effective compared to traditional silicon-based materials.

SEI's PVModules, said the company, represent a fundamental shift towards cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions. This technology enables self-charging capabilities for a wide array of battery-driven devices, including wireless keyboards, smart door locks, electronic shelf labels, sensors, IoT devices, and more.
