Sunic System to expand plant capacity for OLED and perovskite equipment

Sunic System, South Korean maker of OLED and perovskite equipment, has announced plans to expand its production capacity in preparation for growing investment in next-generation display technologies, including OLEDoS, 8.6-generation OLED, and perovskite-based devices.

The company revealed in a regulatory filing that it will invest 15.2 billion won (over US$10 million) to expand Plant B at the Pyeongtaek Brain City industrial complex. The new production line will serve as a general-purpose manufacturing site supporting equipment for OLEDoS, 8.6G OLED, and perovskite technologies, allowing the company to adjust to varied customer demands. Sunic aims to develop a multi-product deposition equipment system to handle fluctuations in order volumes efficiently.

Sunic System has reported a consistent order flow this year, including equipment orders from BOE Technology Group’s Phase 2 project in China and about 60 billion won in OLEDoS orders secured in January and February. The company expects OLEDoS-related equipment to dominate orders in the first half of the year, with 8.6G OLED and perovskite equipment demand expected from the second half of 2026 into early 2027.

Sunic’s perovskite equipment business is also gaining momentum. The company has begun securing contracts for deposition equipment used in energy applications, gradually expanding the perovskite-related share of its portfolio.

Separately, Sunic System is also expanding Plant A at the same Pyeongtaek Brain City site with an additional 19 billion won (around US$12.6 million) investment. This project, announced after land acquisition in 2024, is scheduled for completion by the end of June. With both Plant A and Plant B expansions, the company’s production capacity will be considerably strengthened during 2026.
