TCI offers n-type SAM PANDI forming agents to increase the efficiency of n-i-p type perovskite solar panels

Tokyo Chemical Industry (TCI), a global supplier of laboratory chemicals and specialty materials, has started offering n-Type SAM forming agents. These materials can be used to increase the efficiency of perovskite solar panels.

TCI says that these new PANDI materials can be used as an alternative to electron transport layers (ETLs) such as TiO2 and SnO2.  TCI's PANDI materials offer several advantages to perovskite n-i-p type devices:

  • The highest level of conversion efficiency using n-type SAMs
  • Uniform covering on metal oxide surfaces
  • Enables device fabrication by low temperature process, which allows the deposition of the solar device on flexible plastic substrates
  • The simultaneous reduction of optical reflectance and interfacial energetic losses

The PANDI material platform was designed and patented by researchers from Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). TCI has been granted the right to manufacture and sell this material.

TCI offers a wide range of materials for the perovskite industry, including perovskite precursors,high-performance hole collecting material, Phenylethylamine Hydroiodides materials, SAM forming agents, hole transporting materials, and more. We published an interview with TCI back in 2022 to discuss their perovskite materials and views on the industry and market.
