TCI offers PDINN passivation layer materials for perovskite solar cells

Tokyo Chemical Industry (TCI), a global supplier of laboratory chemicals and specialty materials, is now offering PDINN passivation layer materials for perovskite solar cells.

TCI's PDINN material offers good solubility and thermal stability. Passivation increases the performance of perovskite solar cells as it prevents water-induced damage of the perovskite surface. The passivation layer also reduces energy loss in carrier extraction and transport by reducing band offsets between the perovskite and the ETL.

TCI reports that a group of researchers from Korea and China have developed a perovskite solar cell with a conversion efficiency of 25.07%, by forming PDINN passivation layer between active layer and tin oxide (SnOX) layer (source; Nature, 2020).

TCI offers a wide range of materials for the perovskite industry, including perovskite precursors, high-performance hole collecting materials, Phenylethylamine Hydroiodides materials, SAM forming agents, SMORI passivation materials, n-type SAM PANDI forming agents, hole transporting materials, and more. We published an interview with TCI back in 2022 to discuss their perovskite materials and views on the industry and market.
