Yingfa Ruineng’s large-format perovskite-BC tandem module achieves 26.78% efficiency

Solar cell manufacturer Yingfa Ruineng has developed a perovskite/back-contact (BC) tandem module using BC cells from its subsidiary as the bottom cell.

Classified as large-format with dimensions of 2.384 m × 1.134 m, the module achieved a power output of 724 W and a conversion efficiency of 26.78%. According to the company, the perovskite top cell contributes more than half of the module’s power generation, while the BC bottom cell provides the remainder.

The module adopts a 4-terminal (4T) tandem architecture, with the perovskite top cell absorbing short-wave light in the 300-800 nm range and the BC bottom cell capturing long-wave red and near-infrared light in the 600-1,200 nm range.
