Perovskia

Perovskia Solar AG is a Swiss cleantech startup pioneering digitally printed perovskite solar cells tailored for Internet of Things (IoT), Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL), and consumer electronic devices. Founded by Anand Verma (CEO) and Dr. Toby Meyer (co-founder and CEO of Solaronix), the company is a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa). 

Perovskia has developed innovative solar cells that efficiently harness ambient light, even in low-light conditions, to power next-generation self-sustaining devices.

In 2024, Perovskia secured over $2.4 million in seed funding from a global coalition of investors, including Kickfund and D&FG Elements. This investment has enabled the company to scale its operations and establish a manufacturing facility in Aubonne, Vaud, Switzerland, with a production capacity of up to one million units annually.

In 2025, the Company was awarded CHF 1.05 million (around USD 1.3 million) by Innosuisse to automate the back-end of its production line - bringing the Company closer to manufacturing 1 million custom solar cells per year.

Perovskia's solar cells are designed for seamless integration into various devices, such as smartwatches, keyboards, and sensors, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional batteries. The company's technology has attracted more than thirty leading firms as clients, underscoring its potential to revolutionize the energy landscape for electronic devices, reducing reliance on conventional power sources and minimizing environmental impact.
