GCL Optoelectronics Technology Holdings, a subsidiary of China's Golden Concord Holdings Limited (GCL), recently closed a new financing round to enable it to expand its pilot perovskite solar module production to the mass production level.
According to various reports and news, the company has announced raising more than RMB 100 million (around $15.36 million) for a 100 MW mass production line for these modules.
The company already has a 10 MW pilot production line for these modules, and in October 2019 said it had started construction of a 100 MW mass production line. Back then, GCL said the efficiency of its perovskite module has been further improved to 16.4%, gaining from 13.48% that was certified by TUV Rheinland.
GCL aims to develop large scale 1m x 2m mass production capacity of perovskite solar modules, while targeting solar cell cost reduction and promoting commercialization of perovskite cells.
